MEET JOSHUA — Libertarian Leader 2026
Joshua Rodriguez’s life began as a miracle. Born with his umbilical cord cutting off his airway, doctors feared the worst. His survival instilled in him — and those around him — a deep belief that he was meant to do something unique. From an early age, Joshua was encouraged to strive for excellence, to keep both his mind and body healthy, and to live with purpose.
Driven by this mindset, Joshua graduated from Arizona State University in 2012 with Honors in Biochemistry and later attended Northern Arizona University for graduate studies in Chemistry. His background in science taught him the value of research, innovation, and evidence-based solutions — skills he now applies to public policy.
Family is at the heart of Joshua’s passion for public service. Married for 20 years and the father of three children, his goal is to create a future where Colorado families can thrive. His own upbringing shaped this determination. When Joshua was just seven years old, his father passed away, leaving his single mother to raise nine children. Growing up in poverty, Joshua saw firsthand the challenges families face, and he became determined to help others overcome those same struggles.
Service has always been part of Joshua’s life. As Founder of One Arvada, he has focused on supporting youth and combating poverty. His leadership on the Jefferson County Food Security Task Force helped deliver over 10,000 pounds of food to local families during the COVID-19 crisis. He has served on the City of Arvada Land Development Advisory Committee, providing input on sustainable growth, infrastructure, and community planning, as well as advising on affordable housing and technology policy.
Joshua’s dedication to safety and preparedness is evident in his work on the Jefferson County School Safety & Security Task Force following the Parkland tragedy. He is FEMA-trained and has served on his city’s Community Emergency Response Team.
Professionally, Joshua works in quantum computing and the semiconductor industry, bringing technical expertise that informs his forward-looking approach to economic growth, innovation, and infrastructure planning.
Joshua has run for Mayor (2018), and U.S. Senate (2020), always with the same goal — to serve his community with integrity, to listen, and to act in the best interest of the people of Colorado.
His goal is to Move our Communities Forward with a New Vision.
